Ryanair takes off in Italy and confirms itself as the leading carrier in the Belpaese. Last week Ryanair has announced a new base at Milan Malpensa and four routes to London Stansted, Comiso, Bucharest and Seville. After Milan there are also important news for the two Roman airports of Fiumicino and Malpensa where another 7 routes will be active from next summer.
Da Ciampino two flights a day will leave for Berlin, two more for Bucharest, one for Copenhagen and three a week for Rabat. In addition, flights on five other routes will be increased: Cologne (two per day), Ibiza (one), Lisbon (two), London (five) and Manchester (one). The stopover of Fiumicino, will instead be connected to Alicante (three flights a week), Kos (two more) and Malta (once a day). Four routes will then be enhanced: Barcelona (five a day), Bari (three), Brussels (three) and Palermo (five).
This is what emerged in the press conference of the CEO of Ryanair, Michael O'Leary, who illustrated the general objectives of the carrier, which this year aims to reach 104 million passengers on 194 airports served in 31 countries, with 1.600 routes, for reach 160 million passengers within eight years.
