Fullness, through its US subsidiary Eni New Energy US Inc, expands its portfolio of renewable capacity in the United States with the acquisition of thephotovoltaic system of Kellam, from 81 MW, located in the north of Texas, 80 miles from the Dallas Fort Worth metro complex. The plant is built on over 150 hectares of land and the energy produced will be sold to a local electricity company.

Renewables: Eni strengthens itself in the USA

The plant, sold by Hanwha Qcells Usa Corp., US subsidiary of the Korean group Hanwha, adds to the other assets in Texas and the rest of the USA in Plenitude's portfolio, which with this operation reaches a installed capacity of 878 MW in the US market.

The operation - explains a note from the Group - was carried out with the support of Novis Renewables, LLC, the partnership between Eni New Energy US and Renantis North America, exclusive to the United States and dedicated to the development of solar, wind and storage.

“This transaction represents an important step forward for the consolidation of the company in the Texan and US energy markets, contributing to the energy transition path undertaken by Eni and to the ambitious goals of Plenitude to achieve carbon neutrality by 2040 and to supply 100% of decarbonised energy to all its customers,” he commented Stephen Goberti, CEO of Plenitude.

“Plenitude aims to be the outpost of Eni's decarbonisation strategy, with the aim of contributing to the energy transition path undertaken by Eni, of achieving carbon neutrality by 2040 and of supplying 100% decarbonised energy to all customers,” he said Alessandro Della Zoppa, head of renewables of Eni Plenitude in an interview with Vita.
