Rimini Fair, innovation and sustainability protagonists in K.EY-The Energy Transition Expo

K.EY – The Energy Transition Expo opened the dance at the Rimini fair. For the first time in an autonomous form and with a totally renewed look, the IEG event (Italian Exhibition Group) is the complete showcase of technology, integrated solutions and services able to drive the energy transition: an opportunity for training and information on the subject of energy and on accelerating the energy transition process already underway.

The first edition of K.EY

K.EY picks up the baton of Key Energy turning into an autonomous event, with a new format, a new positioning and a new temporality. The event (open from today Wednesday 22 until Friday 24 March) has approx 600 brand, of which 28% from abroad, with the presence of the main market leaders in all sectors and a significant expansion of the supply chains. The exhibition area has doubled compared to previous editions: 12 pavilions, with six thematic exhibition areas dedicated to each of the six product sectors of the event, confirming the liveliness of the market.

At the opening ceremony, they attended Corrado Peraboni, managing director of Italian Exhibition Group, Vannia Gava, Deputy Minister MASE, Stefano Bonaccini, president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Anna Montini, Councilor for Ecological Transition, Blue Economy, Statistics of the Municipality of Rimini, Roberto luongo, director of ICE e Paolo ArrigoniGSE president.

The third edition of Forum Tech, ITALIA SOLARE training and information event focused on the role of storage systems in the electricity market, on the technological challenges for O&M in Italy and the end-of-life management of photovoltaic modules.

K. EY is also held concurrently with DPE The European Exhibition of Electrical power Systems, the European event dedicated to the entire ecosystem of electrical generation, distribution, safety and automation, organized by the Italian Exhibition Group in collaboration with the Distributed Generation Association – Engines, Components, Generating Sets federated with ANIMA Confindustria.

The comments of Peraboni, Bonaccini and Gava

“In our work – said the CEO of Italian Exhibition Group, Corrado Peraboni – alchemies are created like the one that twenty-five years has given birth to. Recycle, which became Ecomondo, and which accompanied the turning point of what is now called the circular economy. Well today, the same alchemy that has been created with companies and sector associations accompanies K.EY, which left Ecomondo five months ago and which today has three times as many companies present. And it is no coincidence that it is developing in this territory which also knows how to express itself from the point of view of trade fairs and which has the ambition to be excellence and leadership”.

"We have signed in the Region - underlined the president of Emilia-Romagna, Stefano Bonaccini – a new pact for work to which the word climate has been added which does not place the environment and work in opposition. And the results have arrived: we are the first region in Europe for added value of industrial production between 2015 and 2022, while in Italy we are the first region for per capita exports. But we are also the region that says yes to the regasification terminal, and to the offshore wind project off the coast of Ravenna, knowing full well that today we need gas, but the future will only be renewables".

"The theme of the energy transition to which this very important fair is dedicated, born from the offshoot of Ecomondo, is fundamental, as is that of the circular economy - he concluded Vannia Gava, Deputy Minister MASE – It is clear that everyone had to take their own path, while maintaining a synergy in some ways. To carry out the ecological transition we need to simplify the authorization procedures and shorten the times, but also and above all to create an environmental culture by explaining to all the actors involved that it is a necessary path. It is an opportunity that we cannot miss, to safeguard the environment and the country's economy, and which we must seize in the right time frame, without exceeding the 2050 objective".
