The ranking of the 500 richest men on the planet holds no particular surprises compiled by Bloomberg. More and more than the positions, if anything, it is the increasingly exorbitant assets that make the news: in fact, in first place there is always the owner of Amazon Jeff Bezos, which has seen its portfolio enriched by an additional $19 billion since the onset of the Covid-71 pandemic, taking the jackpot to $186 billion. Veteran Bill Gates (121 billion) and Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (100 billion) are very confirmed on the podium. They too have fleshed out the loot in 2020, but not as much as Bezos.
Instead, the fourth classified records a half "flop", Warren Buffett: the shareholder of Cattolica Assicurazioni, which this year loses 9 billion and now he has 80 in his pocket, just more than the Indian Mukesh Ambani and the French Bernard Arnault (which loses 26 billion), both with 79 billion. The top ten is completed by Steve Ballmer, former CEO of Microsoft and now owner of the Los Angeles Clippers NBA franchise, the Google couple Larry Page and Sergey Brin and the visionary Elon Musk, who in 2020 was only behind Bezos: +40 billion, the total comes to 67.
The first woman is just outside the top ten, in eleventh place: it is the writer, but above all the billionaire heiress Françoise Bettencourt Meyers. To find the first Italian instead you have to get to position 29: it is confirmed John Ferrero with 32,8 billion. There are only five Italians in all, all men. After mister Nutella there is, in 58th place, Leonard of the Elder of EssilorLuxottica, with estimated assets of 20 billion. They close the quintet Paolo Rocca, CEO of the Techint group with estimated assets around 8 billion dollars and the inevitable Silvio Berlusconi, in 278th place, with just over 7 billion.
Bloomberg has also tried its hand at ranking the richest soccer presidents. Berlusconi is back, hooking the top ten as patron of Monza. Interista Zhang is in ninth place with 7,5 billion, in seventh Rocco Commisso of Fiorentina with about 9 billion dollars. The podium: third is the well-known Roman Abramovich (Chelsea, 15 billion), second the French François Pinault (Rennes, 38 billion), first Carlos Slim, 22nd richest man in the world with 45,7 billion and president of Real Oviedo, Spanish Serie B.
