Referendum, sparks between D'Alema and Giachetti

The direct confrontation on the referendum between the YES front, represented by Renziano Roberto Giachetti, and the NO front, played by Massimo D'Alema, inflames the Rome Unity Party – Giachetti on the attack: "Why didn't you do it before the reforms?” – D'Alema: "I don't vote for a constitutional reform like this"

Referendum, sparks between D'Alema and Giachetti

“I would like to represent those who are tired of waiting 30 years for reforms to be made”. With these words Roberto Giachetti concentrated the final meaning of his position for the Yes in the referendum, in the face to face with Massimo D'Alema at the party of L'Unità di Roma on the constitutional reform. "For thirty years we have always stalled and finally we can propose something concrete to the citizens who will then decide", added Giachetti who then reminded D'Alema: "When you joined the Bicameral, bypassing article 138 of the Constitution, no one spoke, it doesn't seem to me that anyone shouted about the attack on democracy”.

"This reform is a bad mess for the country." Massimo D'Alema replied according to which the reform approved by Parliament and on which we will vote between the end of November and the beginning of December does not repeat the thesis of the bicameral on overcoming the perfect bicameralism: "This reform does not abolish the Senate but creates a Serie B room. In '97 we wanted a true federal Senate”. But D'Alema has not indicated the way to change the reform or which majority would be ready to support it.
