It's useless to do everything a bit, it's better to aim everything where you can be a leader and give up the rest. This is what Leonardo will do, the publicly controlled aerospace and defense group, led for 4 years by the former banker Alessandro Profumo who designed the new strategy both for the Industry Commission of the Chamber and in a long interview with Corriere della Evening.
In other words, Leonardo will bet his chances on helicopters and defense electronics but not on military ships and cannons and in fact is preparing to sell the Oto Melara "quickly", considering that there are already two expressions of interest. On the other hand, he will try to grow more on the American market.
“You can't do everything” says Profumo, if you want to excel, because “you can only be a large group if your leadership is recognized at least in Europe”. Consequently, Profumo continues to acknowledge that Leonardo is not the ideal group for Oto Melara and Wass to grow.
“We – concludes Leonardo's number one – aim instead to be first in the world in helicopters, first in the EU in defense electronics and to grow in the USA”. The Stock Exchange appreciates and rewards the stock which today rises by 2,32%.
