They are entrepreneurs, researchers, innovators; they are promises of sport, they stand out for their commitment in the world of volunteering or fight for a renewal of culture. They are all under 35 years old and have the Venice as their center of gravity: here they were born and raised, they left here, they arrived or returned here, they worked or are still working here. They all have talent, commitment, skills: they are 1.00o young talents that Nordesteuropa Editore has selected for the 2013 edition of City Business Award which will open on Wednesday 8 May at 18,00 the sixth edition of the Enterprise City Festival at the Municipal Theater of Vicenza.
After the 1.000 creators of ideas awarded last year at the Vicenza Fair, the 2013 edition is dedicated to young talents under 35. «It was natural» comments the director of the Festival, the thirty-two year old from Padua Antonio Maconi «choosing to reward the “builders of the future”: all those young people who, despite the objective difficulties of these times, are building their own future, that of our territory and of the whole country. Today's 1.000 talents are certainties for tomorrow, and it is absurd to treat them as a "weak group" as is often said or read».
And if last year the Minister for Economic Development Corrado Passera was the special guest, this year the Festival has canceled the invitations to the big names in Italian politics. «We had invited some politicians of national importance» continues Maconi «but the show we have all witnessed in recent weeks has been so self-referential that we have decided to cancel our proposal to participate. We prefer to give the floor to young people and have therefore invited all the politicians of the Northeast to listen to them: the only exception for the President Napolitano, as a sign of recognition for the civic sense he demonstrated by accepting again the office entrusted to him by Parliament, and for the president in charge Enrico Letta, in case you want to give these young people a message of closeness to their legitimate aspirations. Instead, there will be all those subjects who contribute every day to the growth and innovation of the country: I am talking about entrepreneurs such as Daniel Lake, Stefano Beraldo, Raffaele Boscaini, Gianluca Bisol, Elena Zambon, who will deliver this symbolic recognition together with other exponents of the world of sport, culture and training".
It's an network projectin fact, what Nordesteuropa Editore has started in recent months to collect and select the names of the 1.000 winners. Beyond 2700 reports received and examined: the result was not only a mapping of young talents, but also of all those subjects who work and are committed to the growth of these young people. From trade associations throughout the Northeast to university training institutions of excellence in the area - among these the UWCAD of Duino, the Scuola Galileiana of Padua, the Scuola Superiore of the University of Udine, the CUOA Foundation of Vicenza or the MIB School of Management of Trieste -; from the network of major cultural events to businesses.
The event will open with greetings from Paul Mantovani president of the Vicenza Fair and of Flavio Albanese president of the Municipal Theater of Vicenza. Antonio Maconi director of the Festival Città Impresa will take care of the presentation of the Award, which will be followed by the award ceremony. They will lead the demonstration Chiara Mafioletti, journalist Corriere della Sera and the blogSolferino28, e Simone Spetia journalist Radio24, conductor of Nine o'clock.
