Prague: the "Chapel of the Assumption" is reborn thanks to Siad

The Chapel of the Italians in Prague is reborn, also thanks to the contribution of Siad. The monument symbol of the Italian presence in Bohemia was inaugurated after the restoration, in the presence of the Minister of Cultural Heritage and Activities Dario Franceschini.

The sixteenth-century Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, owned by the Italian state, is a symbol of "European integration", Franceschini underlined during the ceremony, which was attended by the various authorities among the Czech Minister of Culture, Daniel Herman and Cardinal Dominik Duka, archbishop of Prague.

"It took ten years of effort to bring this Baroque jewel back to life and it is with satisfaction that, thanks to the cooperation between institutions and private individuals, one of its symbols has been returned to the city" commented Roberto Sestini, president of Siad, linked to the Czech Republic since 1998 when the company's first plant in the country was opened in Most.

Siad's international development strategy is always accompanied by attention to the territory and its values: in each country where the Bergamo-based Group is present, it identifies a project to support, linked to culture or the environment, as in the case of the Chapel of Prague.

The Vlasska kaple or Cappella degli Italiani, in Mannerist style, dates back to the last years of the XNUMXth century and was executed by Domenico Bossi based on a project by Ottaviano Mascarino. Joined to the Klementinum complex – the ancient Jesuit college, now home to the National Library – the Chapel is located a few tens of meters from Charles Bridge, on Karlova street, the beating heart of Prague.

SIAD Founded in Bergamo in 1927, SIAD is one of the leading Italian chemical groups, with over 60 customers worldwide. The SIAD Group has offices in Europe and around the world and is active in the industrial gases, engineering, healthcare, services and industrial goods sectors.
