Poste, Sarmi: "We aim at Brazil, ok company with Correios"

Poste Italiane is ready to disembark in Brazilian telephone market, where it intends to replicate the Poste Mobile model in Italy. This was announced on the sidelines of a hearing in the Senate by Paolo Sarmi, CEO of the company, explaining that "a company incorporated under Brazilian law with Correios do Brasil" was set up and that "there is an interest from the Post Office and the Brazilian Government for the model made in Italy”.

In our country, Poste Mobile, a virtual operator that made an agreement first with Vodafone and then with Wind, offers both telephone services and other types of services.

"Brazil is not a saturated market like Italy - added Sarmi -, it is expanding". As for the technological partner needed to create the virtual operator in Brazil as well, Sarmi specified that the company has made contacts with "the three major mobile telephony operators" in Brazil and "there was interest on the part of all".

In general, concluded Sarmi, "Poste is looking ahead to international markets and acquisitions, which can be useful for strengthening the industrial profile on the national market and is looking ahead to the growth of its assets".
