Poste Italiane closed the first quarter of the year with a net profit higher than the consensus for an amount of 367 million euros, i.e. 18% more than in the first quarter of 2015.

Positive first quarter for Poste Italiane, which closed the first quarter of the year with a net profit higher than the consensus for a total of 367 million euros, i.e. 18% more than in the first quarter of 2015. The performance of quarterly revenues was also good, rising by 14,2% compared to the same period last year, recording a total of 9,759 billion . Operating income also increased, rising to 562 million from 484 million a year ago, equal to a leap of +16,1%.

It grows there too managed mass which in one year recorded a +2,2% for a total amount of 486,46 billion against 475,939 billion in the first quarter of 2015. On the other hand, the net financial position fell sharply, which in one year fell by 61,6% to share of 118 million against the 307 million of the first quarter of 2015.

The CEO of Poste, Francesco Caio, in a note accompanying the press release of the quarterly accounts, comments on the good performance of the company and confirms the payout ratio for dividends at 80%: "The cash generation - said Caio -, amounting to 248 million, and the position industrial net financial position, positive for 118 million, confirm the Group's ability to support its investment plan, a dividend policy equal to 80% of its net income and to evaluate strategic development opportunities. Specifically, investments of 62 million were made in the first quarter, up 5% on the previous year, mainly relating to the development of information technology and digital platforms”.

Today at Business Square the share is in slightly negative territory, on a day of deep red for the Milan Stock Exchange: at the end of the morning, Poste Italiane lost 0,2% to 6,72 euros per share.
