Poste Italiane turns 160 . A network that has united the country for over a century and a half with 12.800 post offices, 121 employees (54% women) of whom 15 have been hired in the last four years, 586 billion euros in financial assets, 3,1 billion in investments per 2026. Listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 2015, the group led by Matteo Del Fante is active in the logistics, mail and parcel sectors, financial and insurance services, payment systems and the telephony market.
Poste celebrated the anniversary with the first of a series of events entitled "Our history in the future of the country” at the La Nuvola Congress Center in Rome, in the presence of the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella, of the vice presidents of the Senate and of the Chamber, of ministers and representatives of the government, parliamentarians and representatives of the central and local institutions of the State, civil, military and religious authorities, exponents of the economy and culture. They were welcomed by the president of Poste Italiane, Maria Bianca Farina, the managing director, Matteo Del Fante and the co-managing director Giuseppe Lasco. The anniversary celebrations will continue throughout 2022 with national and local events.
For the occasion also a stamp will remember this special birthday, belonging to the thematic series "The Excellencies of the productive and economic system”. The sticker reproduces the logo of the 160th anniversary of the foundation with the inscription "dal 1862", tariff indication "B".
Farina: "Poste Italiane backbone of the Italian system"
"Today we celebrate Poste Italiane, for 160 years the protagonist of the economic and social life of the country - said the President of Poste Italiane, Maria Bianca Farina - which in its journey has always kept faith with the main mission of accompanying the country in its development to encourage economic and social progress. A social vocation also confirmed during the pandemic, reads a note from the group, when Poste guaranteed essential services to citizens and contributed to the national vaccination campaign with the distribution of more than 30 million doses of vaccine and the creation of a IT platform available to the Regions for bookings. During the event, Maria Grazia Cucinotta awarded a representation of Poste Italiane employees, while Alberto Angela recounted the life of the company between history and current events.

The President Mattarella underlined the intervention of the managing director who "underlined the capillarity and drive towards modernization, not only within the company, but also towards users". The capillary presence of Poste Italiane on the Italian territory "is a precious capital for which Poste Italiane should be thanked: the company has accompanied the economic and social transformation of the country, these transformations he lived and made his own”. And she concluded by thanking the group "for this story" and "for their future commitment".
Giuseppe Lasco thanked the 121 people of Poste "who put their professionalism and experience at the service of Italians every day with commitment and a great sense of responsibility". “We are talking about women and men who represent an invaluable heritage of humanity and competence – added the co-director general -.
