Banca Popolare di Bari gets rid of the Savings Bank of Orvieto. According to what Corriere della Sera writes, the Apulian institute, in the midst of the crisis, has sold its 73,57% stake in the Umbrian bank. The relevant stake is acquired by a pool of investors, including the Bolognese financier Julius Gallazzi, which have been joined by partners of greater financial solidity. Above all, the French background should be noted Argentina, based in Aix en Provence.

In particular, it would have been the subsidiary Alkemia, an investment company with 1,6 billion of equity capital, to acquire the majority of Cassa di Orvieto. The agreed price is equal to 55,5 million euro, which will enter the coffers of Popolare di Bari, commissioned by Bank of Italy and which according to the latest calculations requires a capital increase of 1,4 billion euro, which will only be partially covered by the intervention of the Interbank Deposit Protection Fund and that of Mediocredito Centrale, the bank controlled by Invitalia.
