The implementation of Pnrr pays off to the state coffers. There European Commission has unlocked the second installment of aid connected to the Next Generation Eu and destined for Italy, which thus collects others from Brussels 21 billion euros, of which 10 in the form of non-repayable transfers and 11 as loans. The amount is net of the share that the EU executive withholds from each repayment installment, equal to 13% of the pre-financing received in August 2021 from our country.

The second installment is the result of the objectives achieved in the first semester

The request for the second tranche of aid was sent by the Treasury to the Commission last June, when Italy officially Successfully archived all 45 goals envisaged by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan for the first half of this year. By the end of September the Government will present a report to Parliament to give an account of the progress in the implementation of the Pnrr.

Another 55 goals to access the third installment

Tables in hand, the Plan requires our country to reach another 55 goals by the end of 2022, bringing the total bill for the year to 100. If successful, in 2023 Italy will be able to access the third installment of European aid, which totals a total of 21,8 billion, of which however only 19 will actually be disbursed.
