Pirelli has been selected in the United Nations Global Compact Lead, the group of companies identified on the basis of their commitment to the implementation of the ten principles of the United Nations Global Compact for responsible business activity.
The United Nations Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world: to qualify as a LEAD participant, a company must take part in at least two Global Compact "Action Platforms" in line with the Ten Principles and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In addition, participants must communicate their progress through an annual sustainability report detailing the progress and implementation of the Ten Principles.
Pirelli participated in the following Action Platforms: “Decent Work in Global Supply Chains”, “Financial Innovation for the SDGs” and “Reporting on the SDGs”. Each platform involves businesses, Global Compact local networks, leading experts, civil society, Governments and United Nations partners called to solve complex issues and innovate on issues related to the SDGs.
