Piquadro: 9-month revenues +7,1% year on year

The Italian company active in the leather goods sector has grown a lot on the Italian market, but has suffered a clear decline both on the European one, due to the drop in orders in Russia, and on the extra-European one.

Piquadro: 9-month revenues +7,1% year on year

The first nine months of Piquadro's 2014-2015 financial year ended with revenues up by 7,1% to 48,5 million. This was communicated by the same company active in the leather goods sector, disseminating the preliminary results: the turnover increased both in the single-brand stores (Dos), up by 5,5%, and in the multi-brand ones, up by 8%.

The results on the Italian market (which represents 75,5% of turnover) clearly improved, where revenues, as at 31 December 2014, show an increase of 14,1% on an annual basis, while in the European market the turnover of company recorded a drop of 8,9% on an annual basis, settling at 8,8 million euros, mainly due to the contraction in orders from Russia and Ukraine.

The turnover in the non-European geographical area was also bad, where the drop was 13,5% mainly due to the effect of the reorganization of distribution in the Asian markets which led to the closure of ten single-brand stores in Hong Kong, China and Taiwan.

However, optimism remains for the continuation of the financial year: "Even in an uncertain and volatile context like the current one - declared the president and CEO of Piquadro Marco Palmieri - we are reasonably positive and believe we will continue a growth path of turnover and profitability”.
