US GDP slows less than expected in the first quarter: -0,2%

The US economy slows less than estimated a few weeks ago. The Stars and Stripes GDP for the first quarter was in fact corrected from -0,7% initially calculated to -0,2% made official today, waiting for the data for the second quarter which will be communicated in July.

The US therefore confirms a slowdown in the economy, but much less than expected, according to data released by the Department of Commerce. Promoting the recovery are the household consumption, which also performed better than what emerged from the previous reading, just as companies' stocks were also higher.
