Fiat shines +2,5%, while oil companies contain their losses compared to the morning, with black gold attempting yet another rebound: Brent +1,85%, 45,64 dollars a barrel. At the end of the day, Madrid lost 0,29%; London -0,11%; Paris +0,15%; Frankfurt +0,15%. Wall Street opens flat, but accelerates slightly in the middle of the session, thanks to the US super-index, in line with expectations, confirming the progressive improvement in economic conditions. At individual stock level: American Airlines takes off, in the wake of the news that Qatar Airways would be interested in acquiring a 10% stake (over 2 billion dollars at current prices). Diageo, the British alcohol giant, is set to buy George Clooney's “Casamigos” tequila for 700 million dollars, plus another 300 million based on sales over ten years. Thus, a business born by chance, by three friends at the Cabo San Lucas bar, becomes a billionaire business. Finally Altice debuts in style, best IPO of the year in New York, after Snap.

Gold rounds down 0,22%, to $1250.689 an ounce. The euro-dollar ratio dropped slightly: -0,14%, 1,11528. After a long positive trail, the Italian bond slightly corrects course: the 1,91-year yield marks a yield of 165.40%; the spread with the Bund narrows to 0,24 basis points, +XNUMX%.

Piazza Affari stops in line also for profit taking on banks, after the rally caused yesterday by Banca Intesa's proposal for Veneto banks. Today on the subject there are doubts from the opposition at a political level and those of analysts on the green light from the European authorities. The Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, in Brussels, in any case, seems optimistic: between Italy and the EU "there is a continuous direct line on the banks - he maintains - I think we are working in the right direction".

Banco Bpm -2,22%, Unicredit -1,98%, Ubi -1,12% lose share significantly - Carige slips out of the main basket, -3,41%, after the decision to ask the ECB for an extension on the amount of the capital increase.

Other financial institutions were also weak: Finecobank -1,64%; Azimuth -1,93%; Post -1,48; Banca Mediolanum -1,15. Insurance companies are down: Unipolsai -1,79%; General -1,02%.

New slide for Stm, -2,11%, on the day of the launch of a 1,5 billion dollar convertible bond and the simultaneous repurchase of existing convertible bonds, together with the launch of a buyback programme.
