The inaugural eventPavia Supernova”, which was held yesterday in the historic Aula Magna of the glorious University of Pavia, launched the celebrations and events of Pavia Capital of Corporate Culture 2023. The project evokes the great industrial traditions of the area and their roots in the connection between culture and economy, which made Pavia a key player in the Italian post-war miracle.
Why the name “Pavia Supernova”
The name wants to celebrate the Italian design through theiconic sewing machine "Supernova” produced by the Necchi industry from Pavia, winner of the “Compasso d'Oro” award and also exhibited at the MoMA in New York.
"I am proud to inaugurate 'Pavia Capital of Corporate Culture 2023' today, a recognition that the area has been able to conquer thanks to its business history and its plans for the future - Said Alessandro Spada, President di Assolombarda in his speech in the Aula Magna -. Pavese is an integral part of that area – completed by Milan, Monza Brianza and Lodi – which is the country's locomotive thanks to the decisive contribution of its production system, capable of creating value for the community. Indeed, here companies have values capable of linking productivity and social inclusion, competitiveness and sustainability, generating positive change and attracting talent. It is a spirit that is part of the DNA of our companies, which is essential to keep together and to encourage the development of a province, such as Pavese, which boasts mechatronics as well as agri-food, packaging, health , the mechano-footwear and the digital sector and which is increasingly specializing in microelectronics. We are therefore convinced that the enhancement of this corporate culture and its vocations, the heart of this event, represents a further stimulus to the growth of the whole territory”.
The event, hosted by Antonio Calabro, President of the Assolombarda Foundation and Museimpresa, saw speeches by Paolo Gentiloni, European Commissioner, Claudia Parzani, President of Borsa Italiana and Linklaters Partner, Stefano Zamagni, President of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, Marco Franco Nava, Intesa Sanpaolo South Lombardy Regional Director concluded the discussion table. To close the works Carlo Bonomi, President of Confindustria.
