Last catwalk for Enrico Bondi, forced today to leave his post as CEO of Parmalat. After having resurrected the group from the disaster caused by Calisto Tanzi, it is now time for the manager from Arezzo to pass the baton to the men of Lactalis, who will take the chair today. In recent months, the French giant has scaled up the Collecchio-based company by purchasing 28,9% of the shares on the market and launching a takeover bid on the rest of the capital. Bondi will remain special commissioner of those companies still under receivership since December 2003.
However, the game on the appointment of his successor is still open. The Collecchio Board of Directors will meet today, but no announcements are expected. The meeting will however be useful to take the pulse of the situation. The climate is not the most relaxed, considering that according to many Lactalis will not be slow to impose his men. The most probable investitures are those of Franco Tatò and Antonio Sala, respectively as Chairman and CEO of the group.
