Padua: everyone at the table with the 8th edition of the international illustration review

Andrea Nante, Director of the Museum and scientific coordinator of the event, has been working for months to select the best of world illustration. The invited artists are asked to produce original works precisely on the theme chosen for this eighth edition, namely that of the "Table", or rather of being at the table.

"For man, not only food but the very act of sharing it is fundamental - underlines the director -: the new edition of the review aims to reflect on the table to address that place and that situation that opens up relationships with others, going beyond to simple physical nourishment.

I sit at the table to satisfy a need and for the opportunity to meet and discuss with the other.

The family sits at the table and the gesture becomes an opportunity for storytelling and dialogue. Friends meet at the same table for the pleasure of meeting and sharing time. The tasting of new and old flavours, the discovery of the diners' traditions, the experimentation of novelties enrich and predispose to mutual knowledge. Even in the workplace, in business management, convivial moments are precious for sealing contracts and clarifying situations, for celebrating milestones.

Around the table we find the world, each people with its traditions, colors and narratives. Each person with their own experiences and differences”.

The illustrators who have already submitted their candidacy to be able to participate in the Paduan exhibition are over three hundred. Artists from all over the world who, in the most varied and original ways, have investigated and explored the theme of this edition, in its multiple dimensions. Confirming the acceptance and topicality of the proposed theme.

Many are works full of charm and suggestions, now joyful now melancholy, in some cases very personal, evidence of family experiences, alongside an interpretation of the concept of universal commonality.

“Faced with this large number of proposals, anticipates Andrea Nante, the scientific commission will make very careful choices. To guarantee our audience works of great artistic and content level. The Colors of the Sacred are the most awaited event for hundreds of schools that choose our exhibition for its quality and educational value. Aspects that also apply to the thousands of families who crowd our spaces or participate in our workshops. All in search of beauty, joy, sharing content and stimuli.

The level of the participants allows us to guarantee an eighth extraordinary edition, growing even with respect to the already very high levels recognized by all in the previous edition".
