Budget Oscar 2021: here are the 12 winning companies

They are in everything 12 companies awarded with the 2021 Budget Oscar for their reporting activity and the care of relationships with stakeholders.

The award ceremony took place during the ceremony held yesterday in Milan and promoted by FERPI, the Italian Stock Exchange e Università Bocconi.

For the 57th edition of the event they have arrived 315 applications, record number, subscribed by companies of different sizes and belonging to different sectors. The greatest increase was recorded in the categories of “Disbursement foundations” and “Social enterprises and non-profit associations”, an increase which testifies to the growing commitment of Third Sector Entities in reporting the results of their activities. The applications were analyzed by a jury made up of the presidents of the organizations promoting the award and the presidents of the partner associations, and chaired by Gianmario Verona, Rector of Bocconi University.

“The recognition aims to contribute to the development of coherent financial communication and the dissemination of culture of transparency, stimulating organizations to commit themselves to ever clearer and more articulated reporting”, underlines Ferpi, the association that represents professionals in Public Relations and Communication in Italy, in a note.

In 2021, for the first time, they also attended the event benefit corporations, or those companies that respect the highest standards of responsibility and transparency, giving equal weight to the economic-financial objectives and those connected to the social and environmental impact.

“This edition has confirmed that sustainability has become a strategic driver for many companies: this is also why the number of organizations that decide to fully report their economic, social and environmental impacts with an approach that goes far beyond pure compliance is growing. – he comments Rossella Sobrero, president of Ferpi – A positive trend also confirmed by the great interest in the special awards Dnf and Integrated Reporting. From the point of view of communication there are some interesting signals: the commitment to simplify the language and use impactful images to support numbers, graphs, tables; the decision to produce a summary document designed for non-technical stakeholders".

“Sustainability and an ethical and inclusive approach have now become central and priority objectives for companies. It is a real cultural turning point, in which the impact and value that companies create with respect to all stakeholders in the broadest sense, shareholders, consumers and workers, is taken into account. - He says Gianmario Verona, Rector of Bocconi University and president of the jury – Knowing how to communicate this new approach through one's financial statements is therefore essential for companies”.

“The renaissance of the economy and finance in a sustainable format requires the ability to rethink the business models and industrial plans of companies so that sustainability risks and opportunities are incorporated in companies' equity stories and are not relegated to collateral programmes. – he declares Andrea Sironi, president of Borsa Italiana – From this derives the topicality of the Budget Oscar, thanks to the ability of this important initiative to continue to renew itself, reflecting and synthesizing in a concrete way the evolution of academic thinking and best corporate practices”.
