Horror in Iraq: second US hostage beheaded by ISIS

More images of horror from Iraq. After the recording of James Foley's murder, Isis released a second video - lasting 2 minutes and 46 seconds - showing the beheading of another American citizen. This time it is Steven Sotloff, 31, a professional reporter. The New York Times reports it, citing the Site Intelligence Group. The video also has a title: "A second message to America."

US State Department spokeswoman Jennifer Psaki confirmed that the authenticity of the video is still being evaluated. Terrorists also threaten to kill British hostage David Cawthorne Haines.

Sotloff was shown at the end of the video of James Foley, the other journalist beheaded by jihadists. In the video Steven Sotloff appears wearing an orange jumpsuit. In the background, according to the American press, there is a Syrian panorama.

"I pay the price" for the Obama administration's decision to attack ISIS targets in Iraq: these are the words spoken by Sotloff in the video. The executioner, who has the same British accent as the perpetrator of Foley's killing, then recites a longer part: “I'm back Obama, I'm back because of your arrogant foreign policy against ISIS. As your missiles continue to strike our people, our knives continue to strike the necks of your people. Get out of Iraq”.

Then Sotloff speaks again, in a calm voice: “I'm sure you know who I am and why I appear in this video. Obama, your foreign policy of intervention in Iraq was aimed at protecting the interests and lives of Americans. Then why am I the one paying the price for your interference in my life?” At that point the executioner covers the reporter's mouth with one hand and kills him with the other.

Isis is now threatening to kill a British hostage, David Cawthorne Haines, according to those reported via Twitter by the Site Intelligence Group. The prisoner is shown in the footage, kneeling, in the same orange jumpsuit as Sotloff and Foley. Probably referring to Great Britain, the executioner warns: "To allied governments that enter into this evil alliance with the US I say: go away and leave our people alone".
