TOKYO GALLOPS +2,5%, S&P INFRANGE QUOTA 1,500. MPS -8,1%, TODAY SIENA STOPS FOR THE SHAREHOLDERS' MEETING

In Italy, attention is focused on the mother of all meetings, that of Mps, which will be held today in Siena, a city wounded in its pride and wallet by the landslide of the stock (over 20% in three sessions) and by the rebound of responsibility for the lack of controls on the New Financial Instruments. And yet, reads a note from the institution issued at the end of the board meeting, "the situation of MPS is" completely under control. "The board - continues the document - meeting today in ordinary session, acknowledging the continuous utterances by numerous public figures and political exponents aimed at exploiting the events linked to the issue of the New Financial Instruments, expresses its profound bewilderment at the levity which deals with the issue of recapitalization of the Bank". In short, everything in order but nothing in place.

In the meantime, Taurus resumes its run around the planet. This morning the Tokyo Stock Exchange recorded an increase of around 2,5%. A lot of euphoria in the session which closes the eleventh consecutive week of increases is explained, as usual, by the weakening of the yen and by the negative data on consumption: the malaise of families will push the government to accelerate the quantitative easing measures, despite the currency war risks.

In the meantime, a historic barrier is broken on Wall Street. For the first time since December 2007, the S&P 500 crossed the 1.500 mark.  The goal was reached immediately after 10, 16 in Italy, when the price list rose to 1.501,34 points, to then settle at 1494 points at the end. The race was triggered by the Leading Indicator, the so-called Superindex of the US economy, which rose beyond expectations and by the requests for new unemployment benefits which fell to their lowest level in the last five years. Dow Jones +0,33%, S&P unchanged. Apple's fall pushes the Nasdaq - 0,74% into negative ground.

The London Stock Exchange gained 1%, Paris +0,7%, Frankfurt +0,5%. Piazza Affari +1% despite the new meltdown of MontePaschi which closed in drop of 8,1%. Positive day for btp with the 4,15-year yield down to 256% and the spread with the Bund down to 6 (-XNUMX basis points).

General Electric earns 0,5% and United Parcel Service 2,4%. Of the S&P's top 10 sectors, only the technology .SPLRCT sector is declining.

In contrast to Apple, Netflix surprised Wall Street with good profits after the video subscription service grew customers by 4 million in the US and abroad. The stock jumped about 37%. Microsoft disappoints, but not too much: revenues for the quarter reach 21,46 billion, slightly below analysts' estimates (21,53 billion). After the Stock Exchange, the stock lost 1,6%.
