The German insurance company Allianz is in a consortium with the airports of Gatwick, London City and Charles de Gaulle to conquer the airports of Madrid and Barcelona.

This is what the Sunday Times writes, explaining that Global Infrastructure Partners (Gip), owner of Gatwick and London City airports, presented a proposal to the Spanish on behalf of the consortium. The Spanish government is, in fact, more than ever determined to sell the structures, since it needs to raise cash and reduce the deficit.

According to the English newspaper, the deal would bring more than 5 billion euros into the coffers of the country. Also in the running are Spanish airports, the Siemens group and Fraport, manager of Frankfurt airport.
