Npl, Banca Ifis beyond estimates: acquired 2,7 billion in 2020

In 2020 Banca Ifis acquired 2,7 billion euro of Npl in terms of nominal value for a total of 26 portfolios of non-performing loans corresponding to 235.980 debt positions. A result that exceeded the forecasts formulated at the beginning of 2020, equal to 2,4 billion euros, and which was
carried out in a difficult and challenging economic situation, characterized by the spread of the pandemic.
With these numbers, Banca Ifis thus confirms its leadership in the Npl sector and its dynamism in the activity of purchasing non-performing loans, as well as its ability to successfully carry out both
large and small.
Of the deals completed in 2020, acquisitions on the primary market amounted to €2,3 billion
of nominal value and represented 86,6% of the total, while the operations on the secondary market, about 370 million euro of nominal value, were concluded mainly with funds and vehicles of
investment.
Furthermore, with a view to rationalizing the portfolio, in 2020 the Bank transferred loans to specialized operators for a total residual nominal value of over 328,3 million euro.
Following all these transactions, the Banca Ifis Group's proprietary portfolio now amounts to a nominal value of 19,8 billion euro, to which must be added 3,8 billion euro managed on behalf of third parties for a
total amount of 23,6 billion euros (nominal value).
On 1 January, the corporate reorganization was completed within the Npl area with the creation of a vertical supply chain aimed at guaranteeing the separation and independence between the credit purchase activities and
those of recovery. The Group's activities in the Non Performing Loans sector were therefore reorganized into three companies: Ifis Npl Investing, Ifis Npl Servicing and Ifis Npl Real Estate. The first deals with the acquisition of the portfolios, the second with the management and recovery while Ifis Real Estate deals with the real estate activities at the service of the other two companies
