Appointments: Tria locks the Treasury, Di Maio and Salvini are arguing about Rai

The Finance Minister does not make concessions on the three key figures of his ministry and confirms Franco in the Accounting Department – The game now moves to Rai, in view of Friday's assembly – Whirlwind of names in the running: there are three for the figure of CEO, but the dispute widens over the leadership of the Tg. Here are the names

Appointments: Tria locks the Treasury, Di Maio and Salvini are arguing about Rai

The Minister of Economy, Giovanni Tria, takes his revenge on the Di Maio-Salvini axis and after having sold the name of the CEO of Cassa Depositi, locks down the key positions of the Treasury in charge of managing the country's economic policy, start with the next budget law.

TRIA DOES NOT BACK ON TREASURE

Indeed, the Council of Ministers of 25 July appointed the trio of officials who will flank Tria in Via XX Settembre: in addition to the appointment of Alessandro Rivera to the general management of the Mef - already known and a stone of exchange for the guide of Cdp assigned to Fabrizio Palermo – it is confirmed to the State Accounting Office Daniel Franco, for years among the key figures of the Treasury that M5s and Lega had tried to question after the controversy over the technical report of the Dignity decree. Former Bank of Italy, Franco will continue to have the last word on government measures: the Accountant is in fact the one who, after verifying the presence of the necessary financial backing, gives the green light to the texts which are then sent to the President of the Republic for signature definitive. Therefore, without Franco's stamp, Mattarella will not be able to sign (Article 81 of the Constitution).

At the head of the tax department of the Ministry of Economy, another crucial figure who will have the burden of dealing with the flat tax, is confirmed Fabrizia Lapecorella who will also join the board of directors of CDP.

THE GAME CLOSES ON CDP

After the fight to the death on the CEO's chair, which went after numerous postponements to Fabrizio Palermo, appreciated by the M5s with the approval of the League, the shareholders' meeting of Cassa Depositi e Prestiti has appointed the board of directors who will remain in office for the next three years.

In addition to Palermo and Tononi (president designated by the Fondaizoni), Luigi Paganetto (designated Vice President), Fabrizia Lapecorella, Fabiana Massa Felsani, Valentino Grant (in Lega share), Francesco Floro Flores, Matteo Melley and Alessandra will sit on the board Ruzzu (the latter wanted by the Foundations).

EVERYTHING BETS ON RAI

With one crucial game closed, another equally important one remains open: the one on Rai, in view of the meeting convened by the Mef for Friday 27 July. And even in this context there is no shortage of friction within the government. The tension is all in the sentence pronounced by Tria on the eve of the Tuesday evening meeting at Palazzo Chigi with Premier Conte and the two deputy premiers. Responding to a question from journalists on the words of Matteo Salvini who had spoken of "casting" for the choice of top management, the Economy Minister sent a clear message to the Northern League leader: "If there is a need for someone to meet the candidates to strengthen their beliefs, this does not mean that conditions the choices of the competent minister”. In fact, the last word on the two key appointments - president and general manager - of public TV belongs to the MEF.

During yesterday's meeting, however, it seems that the three ministers managed to narrow the field. Three names in the running for the director's seat: in pole position is Fabrizio Salini, ex La7 and Fox, heavily sponsored by Di Maio (even Tria doesn't seem to mind). As an alternative remain Andrea Castellari of Viacom International and Marcello Ciannamea, director of Rai programming and director of Auditel.

The force game over the presidency is more complicated which, as foreseen in the initial plans, should instead go to the Carroccio. In this case, however, the hypothesis of Giovanna Bianchi Clerici seems to be losing ground, which could receive the No of Forza Italia and Pd, but also of a large part of the pentastellati, especially those "at altitude" to the president of the Chamber Roberto Fico. The second name circulating in recent days is instead that of Gianmarco Mazzi, former artistic director of the Sanremo Festival and former partner of Lucio Presta, owner of an entertainment agency which has many of the main television presenters in its portfolio. But Giovanni Minoli and Fabrizio Del Noce would also be back on track.

Are we heading towards closure then? There's no betting on it because the eyes (and hands) of the two majority parties are all turned towards the Tg. Despite the slogans about "parties outside Rai", between Lega and 5s it seems to be a real clash on the directors of the news. Di Maio, based on the percentages that came out of the polls on March 4, has no intention of giving up the direction of Tg1, where he would like to place a figure he considers a "guarantee" like Milena Gabanelli. However, the League does not intend to give up the news of the flagship network, convinced that it has already made too many "concessions" to its government allies. Salvini's dream would then be to bring to Rai Mario Giordano, purged by Mediaset, perhaps "settling" for Tg2, while for Tg3 we are talking about Federica Sciarelli (wanted by the grillini) or Paolo Corsini, currently editor-in-chief of the news of Rai Parlamento.
