Neet: the first Italian hackathon will take place on 18 October in Rome

Appointment at the Temple of Hadrian to create TIPO, the platform dedicated to young people between 18 and 29 to create a community of reference and a link with the world of work

Neet: the first Italian hackathon will take place on 18 October in Rome

According to the OECD, one in four young people in Italy is excluded from the school, training and work circuit (OECD). Technically, to describe boys and girls involved in this phenomenon, the word Neet was coined ""Not (engaged) in education, employment or training". The seriousness of the situation can also be seen from the comparison with other countries: in 2017 the percentage of Italian NEETs was around 24%, compared to an average of 13% in other countries.

To try to combat this phenomenon, a platform dedicated to "young people on the bench" has been created, aimed at tracing a path between training and work. For its realization, the young people themselves were called with the #TIPOHack initiative, a competition of ideas dedicated to the creation of TIPO, the digital space where a community can be born among young people and create a connection with businesses.

The appointment with the hackathon, organized by the InnovaFiducia Association with the TIM Foundation, InfoCamere and with the support of the Chamber of Commerce of Rome, is for Thursday 18 October at the Temple of Hadrian in Rome with the aim of discussing the real needs that this initiative must go to meet.
