The shareholders' meeting of Invitalia Ventures SGR (70% CDP Equity and 30% Invitalia) held in extraordinary and ordinary session, changed the name of the company to CDP Venture Capital SGR SpA, and appointed the members of the Board of Directors and Francesca Bria as President. The Board of Directors, which met subsequently, then appointed Enrico Resmini as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager of the company. The Board, which will remain in office until the approval of the financial statements at 31 December 2022, is made up as follows: Francesca Bria (Chairman). Enrico Resmini (Chief Executive Officer), Pierpaolo Di Stefano, Marco Bellezza, Isabella de Michelis di Slonghello, Lucia Calvosa, Antonio Margiotta, Andrea Francesco Cardamone, Sergio Luciano Buonanno.
CDP Venture Capital SGR - Fondo Nazionale Innovazione represents a fundamental element of CDP's 2019-2021 business plan and was created to accelerate the growth of the Italian Venture Capital ecosystem and bring it, by size of invested capital and by the number and quality of operators present , at the level of the best European countries, as well as the main comparable economies. In particular, CDP Venture Capital SGR has, among other things, the objective of:
• expand direct and indirect investments, also favoring the creation of new managers, who invest in startups in various stages of development, from the early stage segment to the growth capital segment
• promote the creation of new investment tools that facilitate, for example, technology transfer processes from universities / research institutes, as well as the active involvement of Italian companies through the so-called "corporate venture capital"
• support the overall growth of the Venture Capital market by promoting and facilitating the connection between national/international investors and startups, and creating moments of sharing and education on the opportunities and challenges of this sector
• foster contact between startups and companies owned by the Cdp Group, expanding outlet opportunities to customers and markets for new businesses, and offering large Italian companies access opportunities to innovation-oriented operators.
