Last night on Wall Street, S & P 500 closed down 0,38% and the Nasdaq it finished its run down by 0,28%.

Il dollar strengthens against theeuro to 1,360 from 1,373 yesterday evening and from 1,382 at the beginning of the week.

On the macro front, however, the data were overall positive: claims for unemployment benefits decreased, albeit slightly less than expected, while the Chicago PMI for October was well above expectations.

On the one hand, the positive data leads investors to fear an early cut of measures to stimulate the economy, on the other testifies to the improved performance of the economy.

Exxon Mobil rose 1,9% after announcing higher-than-expected earnings.

La London Stock Exchange it lost 0,6%, weighted by the decline of Royal Dutch Shell: the leading European oil group fell by 3,7% after announcing results lower than expected today.

Eni gained 1,6%, after the results were released yesterday, Natixis raised its recommendation to "buy" from "neutral", while Macquarie lowered it to "neutral" from "buy" by cutting the target price to 20 euros from 21 euros.

On le other European Stock Exchanges: Dax 30 +0,26%, Cac 40 +0,6%, Ibex 35 +1,32%.

Toned Business Square scores a rise, higher than the other European stock exchanges. The FtseMib index rose 0,9% with gains spread across all sectors.

MontePaschi jumped 6,6% on the news that the Foundation is open to a possible merger with a foreign bank. This is what emerges from the multi-year strategic planning document 2013-2017 approved last October 15 by the general deputation of the Foundation which has set itself two priority objectives: the full repayment of the financial loan and an appropriate and lasting balance sheet, "characterized by adequate and consistent risk diversification".

La Milan Stock Exchange it was supported by the rise in banks, the sector with the greatest weight on the FtseMib index. Unicredit gained 1,8%, Intesa +1,3%, Banco Popolare +0,4%.

Generali it rose by 1,6% after JP Morgan raised the target price to 20 euros from 18,3 euros, confirming the "outperform" rating.

Fondiaria Sai + 1,1%.

PIRELLI

Pirelli +2,06% . Assicurazioni Generali, Camfin, Edizione, FonSai, Intesa Sanpaolo, Mediobanca, Massimo Moratti and Sinpar have agreed to dissolve the syndicate agreement ahead of the scheduled deadline of 15 April 2014. Exane has raised the target price on the stock from 10,5 euro at 11 euros, confirming the outperform recommendation. In the quarterly accounts to be published on November 5, experts expect a cut in the 2013-2014 EBIT estimates (now 792 million for Exane compared to the consensus 811 million for this year and 853 million compared to 914 million of the consensus for the next one).

Good recovery of Fiat +1,5% after the descent the day before. There is a growing belief that Veba could reduce its bid to sell its share in Chrysler to Fiat.

Cnh -3,28%. The net profit of the company born from the recent merger of Fiat Industrial and CNH fell in the third quarter to 248 million euros. Revenues also fell to 6,2 billion euros (-1,5%). Debt increases more than expected to 2,5 billion. Analysts were disappointed above all by trading profit (508 million), whose margin at the end of the year is expected to be between 7,5% and 8,3%.

Telecom Italia +0,3%. Naguib Sawiris further increased the bearish bet lit on TI's capital from the previous one, from 1,5% on October 22 last year to 1,6%.

Kepler Cheuvreux analysts (buy rating and target price at 0,80 euros) they expect revenues to fall by 9% on an annual basis in the third quarter to 6,595 billion euros (-7% on an annual basis in the first half), an Ebitda also down by 12% on an annual basis to 2,664 billion (-9% on an annual basis in the first half), an EBIT down by 20% to 1,364 billion and a net profit down by 37% to 434 million. As for net debt, it should decrease quarter-on-quarter by 2% (by 0,6 billion) to 28,2 billion.

Heavy downside of Finmeccanica -3%: Deutsche Bank has launched a new hedge on the stock with a "sell" recommendation and a target price of 5,1 euro.

StM +0,8%.

Among the mid caps, Impregilo soared 10%: Kepler Cheuvreux has raised the target price to 5 euros from 4 euros, confirming the “buy” judgment. Yoox +4,5%, driven by Citigroup. Mondadori +5,7%.
