Mps, increase could rise to 3 billion

The increase from 2,5 billion that Banca MPS has said it intends to make by 2014 to pay 70% of the state loan received from the Treasury with Monti bonds could be raised to 3 billion.

'Il Messaggero' writes it, citing hypotheses being worked on by the banks in charge of organizing the operation which, again according to the newspaper, could be defined in terms of methods and amount on the occasion of the approval of the quarterly report, next 14 November.

This increase would also serve to pay the interest on the 4,07 billion Monti bond, with the coupon to be paid in May 2014 for around 400 million.

At the opening of the session in Piazza Affari, the share rose slightly by 0,22% to 0,2302 euro per share, below the levels reached in recent days when it had exceeded 0,24 euro, the price at which the shares are balance sheet of the Mps Foundation, the main shareholder.
