Fashion and luxury: 26 Italian companies in the world top 100

In the world of luxury, Italy has no rivals. With 26 companies in the world top 100, our country conquers the primacy of the sector in terms of presence.

This is the result that emerges from the Deloitte Global Power of Luxury Goods 2017 study, which ranked the largest companies in the world.

Despite the good news, however, Deloitte also underlines one of the weak points of the flagships of Made in Italy: in terms of turnover, the average perimeter of Italian companies is 1,3 billion dollars against 5 billion of the French and 3 billion Americans and Swiss.

As for the ranking, in first place is Lvmh (22,4 billion in turnover), followed by Richemont (12,2) and The Estee Lauder Companies (11,3). Wooden medal and first among Italians is Luxottica, with a turnover of 9,8 billion dollars. Among the Italians Prada is seventeenth and Giorgio Armani twenty-first.

Remaining within the confines of Italy, it should be noted that Italy is also home to the largest number of companies with the highest compound growth rate (2013-2015), among which the Marcolin Group (+43,1% CAGR) and Valentino (+ 37,8%), first and second in the Top20 Fastest Growing Companies ranking.
