"In the next few days we will reconfirm the situation of an Italy divided in half". This was stated by Fabrizio Curcio, head of the civil protection department, during a press point on the fires held on Saturday.
“The Northern area will already be affected by thunderstorms in the Piedmont area from tonight – Curcio specified – and the bad weather will extend throughout the North. A criticality bulletin on hydrogeological risk has been issued with a high alert risk in the areas already affected in recent days".
This is contrasted with "the constant high temperatures that will remain for many days in the central and southern areas - added the number one of the Civil Protection - and therefore we must issue a series of communications aimed at the two types of risk".
