Weather: goodbye frost, here comes the taste of spring

From Wednesday milder temperatures, but the rains are back in the Centre-North. In the weekend sun and highs around 20 degrees.

Weather: goodbye frost, here comes the taste of spring

Crazy stuff: a week ago Italy tasted an advance of spring, then it plunged again into the cold of winter (that is, normality, since we are in February) and now again, within a few days, it is about to savor a decidedly milder climate. Oddities of the weather, but the fact is that we are about to say goodbye to the cold wave that brought snow all over the North and sub-zero temperatures also in the Centre-South and also in the big cities.

From Wednesday 17 February the mercury column marks a marked rise, even if the increase in temperatures will also be accompanied by some rain, already present since Tuesday and which will persist again on Wednesday especially in the Center, even with the hypothesis of some snowfall on the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines but only at high altitudes. More clouds and precipitation in the Centre-North on Thursday and Friday, while the sun should be over the weekend.

On the other hand, however, as already mentioned, the maximum temperatures will rise everywhere from Wednesday, returning to double digits: 13 degrees in Milan and Rome, even 14 in Turin, 16 in Cagliari. In the following days it will grow, with highs between 12 and 16 degrees, therefore slightly above the seasonal average, in almost all of Italy. Still cold at night, but with lows well above freezing. Friday and Saturday in the Centre-South it should go back to touching 20 degrees, as had already happened about ten days ago, before the great cold returned.
