Among the cities most at risk are Bologna Ferrara, Florence, Terni, Viterbo, Rome, Nuoro, where very intense heat will be felt with temperatures reaching 39°-40°. It's also sultry in the mountains, with peaks of 30°C in the Alps up to 1.500 m and zero degrees above 4.500 m.

The time has come to prepare yourself psychologically. The fifth heat wave of the season will hit Italy as early as the weekend and then explode over the next few weeks with temperatures reaching 40 degrees in central north and Sardinia.

Among the cities most at risk are Bologna Ferrara, Florence, Terni, Viterbo, Rome, Nuoro, where very intense heat will be felt with temperatures reaching 39°-40°. It's also sultry in the mountains, with peaks of 30°C in the Alps up to 1.500 m and zero degrees above 4.500 m. 

Meteorologists report only a short thunderstorm phase that will affect the northern regions in the second part of Saturday, due to a fast unstable impulse. From Monday, however, the North African anticyclone will strengthen further, also extending to the northernmost territories of the peninsula.
