The third heat wave of this summer that started just two weeks ago has reached its peak. Today, in the North, the mercury will touch 36-38 degrees, but record heat is expected in the coming days in the South, especially between Wednesday and Thursday, when it can even touch 40 degrees (forecasts by the Epson Meteo- Meteo.it). An easing of the heat could begin Thursday in the Center and Friday in the South.
Then, for Sunday, a drop in temperatures is confirmed in the North due to the increase in atmospheric instability, with numerous thunderstorms, even intense, which will mainly affect the Alpine sector but with temporary involvement also of the nearby plains, especially between Piedmont and Lombardy. On Monday the instability should return to focus on the Alps, with less widespread phenomena.
In the coming nights, the sultry heat will also lead to a further increase in discomfort, given that the minimum temperatures will not drop below the threshold of 20-22 degrees, and even in urban areas they can often remain above 24-25 degrees".
Again according to data provided by Meteo.it, the heat wave will bring temperatures 8-9 degrees higher than the average for this period in the peak phases. Temperatures will also rise in mountainous areas, with the freezing point in the Alpine areas reaching 4.200-4.400 meters and subsequently, between Sunday and Monday, will tend to drop.
