Financial Education Month: the anti-Covid edition is underway

The third edition of the Financial Education Month, organized by the Committee for the planning and coordination of financial education activities. This year, due to the pandemic, most of the events will take place online and will precisely concern financial choices in the time of Covid-19.

According to the creators of the initiative, Italy is still very backward from the point of view of financial literacy: in the general ranking, out of 150 countries, ours occupies position number 63. Only 37% of the population knows the basic concepts of finance and the most worrying aspect is that in recent years this percentage has improved very little.

Financial Education Month provides for a very busy calendar of conferences, webinars, cultural initiatives, information seminars, shows and game and training days aimed at children, teenagers but also adults.

In particular, it will take place from 26 to 31 October retirement education week. The main objective of the initiative, in its first edition, is to help younger people understand how the Italian pension system, compulsory and complementary, works, to provide them with the tools necessary to organize their future in time.

All the events of Financial Education Month will be free and will be organized by public and private entities. The list is quite long: it ranges from associations to institutions, from companies to universities, passing through research centres, schools, foundations and public administrations. The aim is always to increase basic knowledge on insurance, social security and management and planning of personal and family financial resources.

Anyone who wants can continue to propose new initiatives until 10 October, provided that the projects are presented at least ten days before the start date of the event.
