Merkel freezes the markets: no to Eurobonds. Stock Exchange down

The rebound of the lists deflates after the outcome of the summit between Mario Monti, Nicolas Sarkozy and Angela Merkel. The disappointment with the outcome of the summit weighed on the Ftse Mib which, after an increase of almost 2% at 15.50, passed into negative territory down by 0,99%. The other lists, which move uncertainly, are also in difficulty: the Dax loses 0,18%, the Cac loses 10% and the Ftse 100 loses 0,34%. The spread between BTPs and Bunds also reacts, rising to 490 points and yielding 7,06%. The differentials of France and Spain also rose to 153 basis points and 440 respectively.

Apart from the declarations of intent on the priority of maintaining the euro, no strong signal emerged from the trio for the short-term management of the crisis. The German Chancellor has once again reiterated his positions: Eurobonds are not necessary and the ECB will not be affected by treaty changes towards a lender of last resort role.

Sarkozy also takes time, who cuts short on the specific questions of reporters: it is "dangerous to talk about Eurobonds without talking, together, about governance and sanctions, it is an overall package that we will present together".

In the morning, the lists had hoped that after the flop of yesterday's bund auction there were the conditions to open a breach in Merkel's armor, hopes fueled by the German press for which the German front against Eurobonds would be crumbling.

In Piazza Affari, the banks resisted overall but moved in contrast: Unicredit which rose by 1,70%, Intesa by 1,11% (but rose by 4% in the morning), Ubi Banca by 1,03%, Mediolanum + 4,6 .0,18%. Banco Popolare decreased by 2,20%, Bpm by 0,44% and Mps which lost approximately 1,51%. Among the best stocks Lottomatica +1,46% Fiat Industrial +1,09%, Fiat +1,35% and Parmalat +XNUMX
