Mediaset and Telecom Italia: the alliance does not bring luck on the Stock Exchange

European stock markets closed down at the end of a session marked by the drop in oil prices, awaiting US employment data and quarterly reports with mixed results.

Finally a positive closure instead for the Stock Exchange Athens +3,6%, the first since June: the banks, which in recent sessions had ballasted the list to the point of losing 64%, rebounded with higher gains of up to 30%. Alpha Bank gained 12%, National Bank 27%, Attica bank 26% and Piraeus Bank 3%. 

The news coming from Wall Street influenced the end of the session under the pressure of some disappointing corporate data. The Dow Jones index fell -0,54%, the S&P 500 -0,59% and the Nasdaq -1,54%.

Thump of Tesla (-9%) after the announcement that it will fail to hit its sales target for the quarter.

But the alarm sounds above all for the medium, after the disappointments coming from the cable Walt Disney still down (-3%) after Wednesday's landslide. Meanwhile, the other editorials are falling. Today, 21st Century Fox loses 7,46% despite quarterly earnings exceeding expectations: Lachlan Murdoch, the executive co-chairman, said on a conference call that changes in the sector could be heavy declines for some groups to manage. On the day of the accounts, Viacom dropped almost 10%. 

In Milan Mediaset leaves 4,27% on the ground. With crude oil at its lowest since March, Eni loses 0,87%. Tenaris was also in the red (-1,7%): revenues fell by 21% to 4,12 billion dollars. The operating result (-56%) as well as the margins and the net profit also fell sharply. The final result went from $847,92 million to $326,27 million.

Bad too Telecom Italy (-1,69%), while the board meeting is in progress. During the session, the stock also rose by 2% after Hutchison and Vimpelcom, controlling shareholders - respectively - of 3 Italia and Wind, announced that the two mobile phone companies will launch an equal joint venture aimed at integrating 12 months. 

Almost unchanged Unicredit (+0,08%) on which the judgments of analysts rained. Citigroup raised their target price from 7,4 euros to 7,7 euros. Morgan Stanley is on the same wavelength, increasing its target price from 6 euros to 75 euros. Analysts confirmed the "Overweight" rating. Similar indication from Equita sim, which increased the target from 7,1 euros to 6,7 euros per share. 

Positive intonation for Mount Paschi (+1,06% to 1,81 euro) while the institute's board of directors was in session which recorded the departure of Alessandro Profumo. 

Bad day instead for Mediobanca (-1,21%): Kepler Cheuvreux increased the target price on Mediobanca from 10 euro to 10,3 euro, but worsened the rating from "Buy" to "Hold". Conversely, Equita sim raised the target price on the bank from 10 euro to 11,3 euro, confirming the indication to purchase the shares. Banca Akros is on the same wavelength, which increased its target price from 9,5 euros to 10,4 euros.
