Luxury: Kering flies with Gucci

The shares of the French luxury group rise sharply on the Paris Stock Exchange after the quarterly data. Revenues up 10,5% at constant exchange rates. Among the brands of the group, Gucci should be noted, which increased its sales on the e-commerce channel by 50%.

The results of the third quarter of 2016 push the Kering stock to the Paris Stock Exchange, which at around 9:30 recorded an increase of close to 7 percent. The French luxury giant presented its sales data for the third quarter closed with revenues of 3,2 billion, up 10,5% at constant exchange rates compared to the corresponding period of 2015. The important contribution of the Gucci brand should be noted ( +17%), which accelerates the group's core business. Overall, in fact, the “luxury activities”, which represent over 66% of turnover, grew by 11,3%, marking the best performance in the last three years. The “Sport & Lifestyle activities” division also did well (+9,3% at constant exchange rates), driven by Puma sales (+10,8% at constant exchange rates).

The Gucci maison closed the third quarter of 2016 with revenues of 1,088 billion, up 17% at constant exchange rates, thanks to the positive performance of all product categories and all geographical areas (except Japan). Strong boost from e-commerce, up 50% in the period. The group reaps the fruits of the new creative direction of Alessandro Michele and the new leadership of the CEO Marco Bizzarri.
