The coupon effect is not enough to explain the slump in Piazza Affari. Today, companies listed in Milan pay dividends of over seven billion euros overall, but this implies a drop in the price list of no more than 1,45%. At the end of the morning, however, the red of the Ftse Mib is much wider: -2,8%, by far the worst performance in Europe. 

In the same minutes, in fact, Frankfurt, Paris and London all lost around 0,6%. On the bond side, the BTP-Bund spread it is on the rise, at 186 basis points. 

Bankers in particular suffer in Milan. The worst headlines are Mediolanum (-4,95%), Unicredit (-4,54%), Generali (-4,37%), Banca Monte Paschi Siena (-4,36%) And Banco Popolare (-4,24%). Bad too Intesa Sanpaolo (-3,8%), Eni (-3,28%) And Unipolsai (-3,98%).
