Lombard International: Italian collection grows by 60%

In the first nine months of 2018, Lombard International Assurance achieved 60% higher premium income in Italy than in the same period in the previous year.

The data emerged in Milan during the "Lombard day", an annual event in which the insurance company meets its professional partners (private bankers, brokers, family offices, law and tax firm representatives) and which this year took place on the theme: "The art of creating value in the new regulatory framework".

In detail, at the end of 2017 the company managed assets globally for 41,2 billion euros, with annual insurance income in Europe amounting to more than 4 billion.

“Italy is one of the most important markets for Lombard International Assurance - explained Stefano Carpi, branch manager of the Italian secondary office - representing 20% of total gross inflows in 2017 and the performance at the end of the third quarter of this year is even more striking when compared with the more modest results of the national life market.”

In June of this year - data from Ania attest - the collection of premiums by Italian companies amounted to 53,3 billion, an increase of 5,9% compared to the same period of the previous year. Furthermore, guaranteed class I policies grew the most (+5,9% in the first half of the year) compared to unit-linked class III policies (+1,7%) penalized by the greater volatility of the financial markets. Lombard International Assurance focuses its business on unit-linked policies.
