The Senate's ok to the maneuver is not enough: the three political boulders for Silvio Berlusconi

After the vote of confidence in the Senate, the maneuver will also pass to Montecitorio by Saturday – Meanwhile, the judicial troubles of the premier who will be heard by the magistrates of Naples next Tuesday are back in the foreground – Then there is the protest of the squares and above all the difficulties that the majority meets in the center as evidenced by Pisanu's intervention

The Senate's ok to the maneuver is not enough: the three political boulders for Silvio Berlusconi

Welcomed by a favorable day also on the markets, the maneuver, in its fourth (fifth for some) version, passed with the Senate's vote of confidence and everything suggests that by Saturday morning (perhaps already Friday) the go-ahead from Montecitorio will also arrive . Yet it cannot be said that the centre-right government has strengthened.
In front of Silvio Berlusconi there are in fact three new political boulders: his judicial troubles, the protest of the square, which could lead to a difficult autumn also in terms of public order, and above all the evident difficulties of holding the majority that emerged with the open disagreements of the mayors and governors friends for the cuts to local authorities, the grumblings of a divided League, and now also with the request of Pisanu (one of the founders of Forza Italia), in favor of a government of national solidarity with relative step backwards of the 'current prime minister.
As regards his judicial troubles, Berlusconi will be heard by the magistrates of Naples as an injured party, and therefore without the assistance of lawyers, as early as next Tuesday. Then there is the question of telephone interceptions. More particularly embarrassing ones could come in the next few days. Berlusconi has already asked the Council of Deputies in a letter to intervene to prevent them from being used in the Ruby case and there is talk of a possible anti-wiretapping decree. Not to mention that the Chamber could give the green light to the arrest of deputy Marco Milanese, until a few weeks ago I was an authoritative collaborator of Economy Minister Tremonti.
In short, in addition to Berlusconi's markets, the government and the majority have to deal with judicial investigations. Worrying signs also in terms of public order. Yesterday, while the Senate was voting for confidence, there were clashes and scuffles near Palazzo Madama. The demonstration of the CGLI in recent days has seen, at least in the squares, a large participation in many cities. And more protests against the government are announced for the next few days. Then there are the fibrillations within the majority which weaken it above all in the Centre. These days the distances with the third pole, which openly calls for "discontinuity" in the Executive, are increasing. An invitation taken up by former Interior Minister Beppe Pisanu, now openly in favor of a new leadership that allows for the formation of an Executive of national solidarity. Of course, yesterday Berlusconi's general staff rallied around the premier, isolating Pisanu's exit. But the malaise within the PDL is evident. Not to mention that the League, in which Bossi's leadership is increasingly tarnished, does not hide how it is increasingly difficult to swallow the toads it has had to swallow in recent months of government.
