Leonardo, quarterly: revenues +3,8%, Helicopters recovering

Net ordinary income amounted to 50 million, from 49 million in the first quarter of 2017 – The CEO Profumo: “We approved the creation of 'Leonardo International' with the aim of strengthening our presence on foreign markets. 2018 guidance confirmed”.

Leonardo, quarterly: revenues +3,8%, Helicopters recovering

Leonardo ends the first quarter with revenues up 3,8% to 2,451 billion, above all thanks to the recovery of the Helicopters sector. This was reported in a note from the group, specifying that the ordinary net income amounted to 50 million, from 49 million in the first quarter of 2017. I new orders on the other hand, they amounted to 2,16 billion (-18,2%), with an overall portfolio that fell to 33,36 billion. L'ebitda decreased slightly to 153 million, from 155 in the same period last year, while theebit it dropped from 123 to 121 million.

“The results of the first quarter of 2018 are in line with expectations and, as expected, the Helicopters sector is showing signs of recovery – commented Alessandro Profumo, CEO of Leonardo – We are focused on executing the Business Plan: we approved the creation of 'Leonardo International' with the aim of strengthening our presence on foreign markets, leveraging on the 'One Company' model, to guarantee a presence unitary towards customers and all stakeholders. In consideration of the results obtained in the first quarter of 2018 and the expectations for the subsequent ones, the guidance for the full year formulated when preparing the financial statements as at 31 December 2017 is confirmed".

Returning to Leonardo International, the note clarifies that the group "is transforming its international network through the reorganization and consolidation of its entities abroad, with the exclusion of domestic markets (Italy, the United Kingdom, the United States and Poland), with the aim of creating a single and unique legal entity in each country, able to represent the Leonardo offer, promote the appropriate agreements with third-party companies in the area, support the customer throughout the entire life cycle of the programs and develop the Leonardo's business globally".

About two hours after closing, Leonardo's share on the Stock Exchange gains 0,2%, to 9,668 euros, while the Ftse Mib loses 1,7%.
