Leonardo signed a multi-year contract with the Kuwaiti Ministry of Defense for the extension of fleet support services Eurofighter Typhoon of the country's Air Force. The agreement, valid until December 2029, includes Integrated Logistics Support activities and training programs delivered through the local company Leonardo Aviation Services at Salem Al Sabah Air Base.
From the 2016 order to deliveries
The new contract is in place in the agreement signed in 2016, when Kuwait ordered 28 Eurofighter Typhoons to strengthen its air defense system. Deliveries began in 2021, and today, most of the aircraft, produced in Italy and equipped with the most advanced version available, are already in service. With this step, Kuwait has exercised the option included in the original agreement, ensuring continued technical and operational support.
Field support and training
Through Leonardo Aviation Services, the Italian company will provide services ranging from engineering support to maintenance, repairs, upgrades, and supply chain management. The agreement also includes training for flight crews and ground personnel. The goal is ensure maximum fleet efficiency and consolidate the “customer-focused support” model, a cornerstone of Leonardo’s global strategy.
