Leonardo, Profumo launches the new plan and starts from the helicopters

In the historic former AgustaWestland helicopter factory in Vergiate, in the province of Varese, this afternoon Alessandro Profumo launches the long-awaited industrial plan of Leonardo, the former Finmeccanica. It is no coincidence that Leonardo's CEO chose this location because everyone knows that helicopters are the weakest part of the group, as already emerged in the November warning. And it is precisely from the relaunch of helicopters that Profumo, as he anticipated in an interview with Sole 24 Ore, wants to start again to bring Leonardo back into orbit after the skidding of the Moretti era and after the break-in of these months which have served the former banker of Unicredit and Monte dei Paschi to lay bare all of Leonardo's problems and seek a quick solution.

Profumo will not announce revolutions and will not make the dreaded stew of Leonardo's activities but, pragmatically, he will indicate how and when it is possible to get the largest high-tech Italian industrial group back on track.

Increasing revenues and margins will be the compass of the new industrial plan which, without losing sight of the debt, will aim above all to strengthen the commercial part to open new markets, seek new customers and retain those that Leonardo already has, meeting their expectations and also assisting them with the provision of new services

The market is expecting a lot from Profumo's business plan and hopes that the former banker will find in the industry the magic touch that characterized him in the first years of his leadership of Unicredit. This afternoon we will understand better if and how it will be possible but it is no coincidence that in the last week the Leonardo stock has gained more than 13 percent on the stock market.
