The decreases weigh on the price list di Banco Bpm (-5,61%), Bper (-5,38%), Unicredit (-5,16%). Profit-taking also sinks Leonardo (-4,66%), after yesterday's leap. Investors also cash in on the Juventus -4,23%, with the controversy over the Superleague which continues to rage.

The climate is disturbed in the rest of the continent and on Wall Street. The pandemic is once again frightening, with large areas of the world under attack, including Japan which fears that the Olympics will vanish again. Tokyo closed this morning down 1,97%.

In Europe, where the Stoxx 600 reached a series of all-time highs this month, financial, insurance and travel stocks are negative. Frankfurt loses 1,5%, Paris -2,09% Amsterdam -1,65% Madrid -2,9%. London it falls 2,03%, weighted by tobacco companies, as the Biden administration could ask them to lower the nicotine levels in all cigarettes sold in the United States. 

Also Wall Street it started down for the second consecutive day and is continuing the session in the red, with attention being directed above all to the many quarterly reports currently being published. Among these Johnson & Johnson, which against the trend rose by 2,5%, after results higher than expected and an improved outlook. The United States still maintains the stop on the company's serum, after six cases of thrombosis, but the EMA, which pronounced itself today, promotes it and, as for AstraZeneca, says that the benefits outweigh the risks.

In the currency area, the weakness of the dollar remains. L'euro remains well matched against the greenback trading around 1,204. 

A timid dollar is not enough to galvanize raw materials. In particular the Petroleum looks with concern at the fight against Covid 19, which seems far from won in the world, with inevitable consequences on mobility. The June 2021 Brent contract loses 1,8% and trades at $65,85 a barrel. In any case, we are light years away from the historic collapse that plunged crude oil futures below zero a year ago. Pale upside for gold.

In a climate of lower propensity for risk, the spread between ten-year BTPs and Bunds which rises to 104 basis points (+2,09%). The yield for the Italian bond was stable, +0,78%, but there was a slight drop for the German one at -0,26%. Pending the start of the review of Italy's rating by the various agencies and the meeting of the ECB on Thursday, the Bank of Italy underlines that the stabilization of the Italian public debt at very high levels exposes the country to risks deriving from tensions on the financial markets or by new economic shocks, and that economic activity may have remained practically stable in the first three months of the current year, after the sharp fall of the previous quarter.

Positive day for Btp Futura, the bond intended for savers and with a 'premium' linked to the GDP growth rate which serves to finance the post-Covid-19 economic recovery measures and the vaccination campaign. The second day of the offer closed with requests for 1,39 billion euros, based on 35 contracts. Overall, between the first and second day, applications reached 3,67 billion euros.

In this climate, investors are inclined towards a rotation on securities, in the hope that the vaccination campaign will soon offer new sources of optimism.

In the banking sector, Consob updates reveal that BlackRock has reduced its stake in the shareholding of Unicredit, bringing its stake to 4,966% from the previous 5,113%.

Creval slows its pace and loses 2,21% closing at 11,96 euros, below the price of 12,20 euros raised by Credit Agricole with the possibility of reaching 12,50 if acceptances exceed 90%, in the takeover bid it concludes tomorrow and which yesterday saw little adherence. According to Intesa Sanpaolo analysts, the price offered by Credit Agricole "fully incorporates the value of Creval on a stand-alone basis by limiting the takeover premium to 2-4%, despite the significant synergies and the value deriving from the transformation of DTAs into credit tax.

The close is strongly negative for oil stocks: Tenaris -4,44%; Saipem -3,55%. Nice car bad Exor -4,11% and stellantis -4,04%.

Ferrari loses 1,31%. The company announces that it has appointed Charlie Turner as Chief Content Officer, a new management position created by the company. Urner joins Ferrari after serving as editorial director of TopGear, a BBC broadcast, for which over the past ten years he has led the growth and development of one of the largest global communities of automotive topics and engines. 

Telecom scores -2,6% and follows the story of the Superlega with apprehension, given the distribution agreement with Dazn which was awarded the television rights to Serie A matches for the next three seasons.

Among the largest cap stocks, they save themselves from sales Diasorin + 0,97% Amplifon + 0,88% Recordati + 0,13%.

Out of the main basket Mediaset loses 5,28% as a result of decisions of the Court of Milan which awarded the Cologno Monzese group compensation lower than expected in the context of the lawsuit with Vivendi.
