Banks weaken Piazza Affari, spread below 100 points. Nasdaq records

Record-breaking Nasdaq returns to 2000 levels – The Btp-Bund spread falls below 100 points while Piazza Affari pays for the weakness of banks and a part of fashion – Gtech, Stm the Benetton team and FCA go against the trend – European two-speed price lists – Telecom up sharply ahead of tomorrow's Council of Ministers on ultra-broadband.

THE SPRINT OF FIAT CONTINUES. GRAND BALZO OF CARIGE. SPREAD AT 98, NASDAQ AT 2000 LEVELS  

Weak start to the week for European lists. In Milan, the Ftse Mib index closed down by 0,18% at 22.298 points. On the other hand, Frankfurt made slight progress, where the Dax30 gained 0,08%. London down -0,09% while Paris closes even further back -0,69%.

The negative day of the oil sector weighs on the European lists (Stoxx for the sector -1,4%). Brent loses 2,5% to 61 dollars a barrel. Conversely, US-type WTI oil rose by 1,8% to 50,6 dollars a barrel. Eni lost 0,9%, Tenaris -0,9%, Saipem bucked the trend and gained 0,9%. The BTP is stable: yield at 1,34% and spread at 98 points, in line with the Spanish government bond.

Wall Street is in positive territory: the Dow Jones is up 0,6%, S&P +0,3%. The Nasdaq rises by 0,7% and returns to 15 for the first time in 5.000 years. At the end of the day, the euro was unchanged from Friday, at 1,118 against the dollar and 1,06 against the Swiss franc.

The titles of the Automotive sector pulled the European lists. In Piazza Affari Fiat Chrysler rose by 2,2%: the group expects the return to profitability of activities in Europe in 2015. Among other industrial stocks, StM gained 3,1% on the wave of the US merger between Freescale and Nxt. 

Instead, the banks contributed to curbing the Milanese price list: MontePaschi dropped by 0,9%, Intesa -1,2%, Unicredit -0,3%. The popular companies also fell: Pop.Emilia -2,7%, Pop.Milano -0,9%, Banco Popolare -1,4%. Carige closed up 10% after the news that the Malacalza family agreed with the Foundation to purchase a 10,5% stake at 6,2 cents per share. The stock closed at 6,55 cents on Friday. 

Telecom Italia rose by 1,3% after rumors about an interest by the French Orange in a possible merger. Telecom Italia has denied. Good rise for Enel +0,9% pending the new industrial plan. A2A earns 1,1%. World Duty Free +2,5% and Autogrill +1,8% are still on the rise: for both there are rumors about the possible entry of new shareholders. The rise in the dollar favored GTech +3,5%.

Ovs made its debut this morning and the stock recovered the initial decline, closing at 4,1 euros, the same price as the placement. It had dropped to 3,932 euros.
