The Genoese auction event achieved excellent results: a total turnover of approximately 770.000 euros, with 85% of lots sold and a 93% increase compared to initial estimates. Among the most anticipated events in the Genoese calendar, the auction represented an authentic tribute to theelegance and the art of mise en place, through an exclusive selection of 421 lots, including porcelain, silverware, crystal and art objects of timeless elegance.
The items featured in the auction
Some lots of rare beauty and historical importance stand out and have attracted the interest of collectors and enthusiasts, reaching very important prices, such as:
- A rare “Palladiana” table service designed by Piero Fornasetti (cover image) and produced by the Rosenthal Manufacture between 1970 and 1979. The service, composed of 71 pieces, is characterised by the architectural motif inspired by the Palladian buildings of Vicenza, combining classical rigor with modern lines.Estimated between 14.000 and 15.000 euros, it was sold for 17.600 euros, including buyer's premium.
- A monumental cutlery service from Maison Odiot in Paris, composed of 373 pieces in chased and gilded silver, a masterpiece of XNUMXth century French goldsmith art created in collaboration with the silversmith Jean Gravigne. The service, preserved in its original oak cases with rocaille decorations, had a estimated at 18.000-20.000 euros and was sold for 32.600 euros.
- Top lot of the auction, a majestic French surtout de table in gilded bronze and cut crystal, dating back to the 19th century and inspired by the neo-baroque taste. The ensemble, composed of candelabras and stands decorated with mythological figures, vine shoots and cornucopias, evoked an allegory of happiness and abundance. Made on commission from one of the main noble families of Lombardy, the lot, Estimated between 30.000 and 40.000 euros, it sold for 65.100 euros.
