The ArcheocineMANN is ready for streaming

The ArcheocineMANN is ready for streaming

From 2 to 5 December the new edition of the exhibition that brings together archaeology, art and the environment. As everywhere, just a click. The second edition of the archeocineMANN is ready. Organized by the Archaeological Museum of Naples from 2 to 5 December, will be streaming for free on www.streamcult.it. You will be able to see the best of the cinema of Archaeology, Art and the Environment. A composite selection of facts and events from different eras of which it is right not to forget. Indeed, this year an on-demand platform was also created for high schools to arouse the interest of children. The 2020 review expresses an environmental vocation, it wants to infect. Piero Pruneti, director of Archeologia Viva said well "once again we cannot understand where we want to go if we do not know who we are and where we come from". Archeologia Viva/Firenze Archeofilm, in fact, collaborates with the Neapolitan Museum for this purpose. In the days of the streaming, a journey through time will take place: from Olympia to the Egypt of the Pyramids, to the Arles of the Gladiators, from Stonehenge to Peru, from the dragons of the Middle Ages to the last hours of Pompeii. Cinema is a means of scrutinizing and passing on. The MANN claims a privileged relationship with the world of films. Remember that famous films and documentaries have been shot in its halls. So for the second time it is part of national events with a profile of its own. The proposal is to discover and enhance more and more archaeological cinema. That cinema that entrusts scientific dissemination to the power of the image and to the suggestion of the story. In Naples you will see works that explain in depth the relationship between man and the planet. Something controversial, because the stratified cohabitation between men, actions and habitats has never been easy. We've come to realize this heavily in recent years, when we've discovered the need to all lend a hand to remedy deep-seated breakdowns.

There will be previews. The entrance into the tunnels of the Pyramid of Cheops, the 3D animation of 'Apud Cannas', on the famous Battle of Cannae, the birth of the Olympics in Olympia will be presented in a captivating way to win over connected people. Paolo Giulierini, director of the Museum, explained that streaming is basically a good means to go even beyond the cinema, with stories and lived experiences. The virtual spectators - hopefully many young people - will have the opportunity to get to know the big names in archaeological research and dissemination up close. The archaeocinema also aims to survive December 5th. A time challenge in a pandemic era. After the conclusion of the streaming and the assignment of the "MANN Prize" to the film chosen by a jury of experts, the event will continue on demand for another five days. Until December 10, teachers and students will be able to intertwine contents and themes of the previous days in an ideal continuity towards the reopening of schools. A kind of technological marathon steeped in history and art.
