France increases the dose a few hours before the European summit in Brussels: the euro could explode

Paris insists: the euro can really explode. Not at all comforting signals were those sent on the eve of the European summit by the French Minister for European Affairs, Jean Leonetti, who fears a "catastrophe" not only for the Old Continent and France, but "for the whole world".

In comparison, Berlin's pessimism was nothing: a real alarm comes from France, also supported by the same citizens who according to some polls they would like a return to the franc. In the EU, the situation "is serious, the euro could explode, and Europe could fall apart", added the French minister.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy also said on Wednesday that the EU's "risk of explosion" will remain "concrete" until the agreement found last Monday between France and Germany for a new EU treaty becomes effective. US President Barack Obama is also worried, calling Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday.
